Most people who know me know that I have no shame in talking about my poop! Actually it’s a topic I enjoy very much!
It’s not a weird fetish of sorts but rather a true sign of overall health!
I know that if my bowels are flowing easily and looking like the “Poopie Policeman” in the photo at the top, I’m in good shape!! (At least 6 inches long, a nice light brown, smooth and solid!).
If it resembles anything like the nasty dudes in the line up, I go into full panic mode and retrace my steps to see where things could have gone “to the crapper”. A little detective work is required but I normally trace it back to something I ate or a stressful situation I encountered.
Our poop let’s us know if we are eating properly, have a food allergy, too stressed, dehydrated, or trying to expel toxins. It’s a tell tale sign if things are running smoothly on the inside or if there’s an issue we have to address!
In other words, don’t be afraid to stand up and check the bowl after a # 2!!
Recently, I went for my first colonic (mainly because I was curious and also to work on detoxing my body).
If you’ve never gone for one, I HIGHLY recommend you do.
It’s a great way to release weeks, months, or YEARS of built up bacteria and toxins.
Now, although my diet is pretty much right on point 95% of the time, I was surprised when the technician told me I had several pounds of “matter” stuck up there that was just released!
YIKES!!
Could you imagine the results of someone who follows a more S.A.D (Standard American Diet) way of eating filled with toxic fats, refined grains and sugars, little veggies and almost no water! It’s a scary thought my friend!
This decaying poop may be the cause of skin funguses, acne, IBS, depression, anemia, chronic fatigue…It’s a pretty comprehensive list!
If you’re anything like me, nutrition and lifestyle is very important to you and the well being of your family. Learning which foods work for your unique body type, managing stress, and getting enough rest and play into your day is key to being strong, happy, and healthy!
Listen to your body, follow your intuition, and don’t take a DUMP on your own health!
